The development of geometric measurement can be divided into one-dimensional measurement, two-dimensional measurement, and three-dimensional measurement in terms of measurement dimensions. The most typical measuring instrument for 3D measurement is the coordinate measuring machine in three-axis motion mode. With the development of technology, Edward Measurement has successfully expanded and evolved based on this technology, configuring a precision turntable on the basis of the original three coordinate measuring machine, and completing the development of coordinate measurement software and hardware in four axis linkage mode.

Two application modes of precision turntable combined with coordinate measuring machine

When used horizontally, the rotation axis of the turntable is perpendicular to the Y-axis of the measuring machine

When used vertically, the rotation axis of the turntable is parallel to the z-axis of the coordinate measuring machine.

Precision rotary table measurement scheme

The measurement of rotating body type parts generally requires the measuring head system to rotate multiple angles for repetitive measurement. Therefore, the measuring head system needs to rotate multiple times or be equipped with multi angle measuring needles to work. Conventional methods greatly reduce measurement efficiency and affect the output of measurement results on the production line. For corresponding measurement users of impellers, turbines, impellers, hydraulic components, etc., a precision turntable measurement scheme can be used to quickly and conveniently complete the detection task.

The precision turntable is a product independently developed by Edwards Measurement. The measurement scheme of configuring and using a precision turntable on the original coordinate measuring machine can improve measurement efficiency. At present, the entire series of Edward Measurement turntables have the characteristics of strong load-bearing capacity, smooth movement, and high positioning accuracy. The installation structure is reserved and can be customized according to user requirements.

Typical users

The precision rotary table four axis linkage measurement mode has fast measurement speed and high efficiency, which can reduce the need for multiple clamping of workpieces. When clamping, there is no need to precisely center the axis. By using different types of probes, it is possible to detect different types of workpieces.

Inspection of box type workpieces

Add the precision turntable to enter the four axis linkage measurement mode. The software will automatically calculate the rotation angle of the turntable based on the vector direction of the elements on the CAD model, and quickly measure through the rotation of the turntable.

Detection of cylindrical surface elements

When various detection elements are distributed on the cylindrical surface, it is convenient to complete the detection. When the elements to be inspected are evenly distributed on the cylindrical surface, rapid programming can be performed through an array method.
